Addon Converter X Released

Addon Converter X is a plugin for FSX that makes many add-on aircraft and sceneries developed for FS2004 compatible with FSX SP2 and FSX Acceleration Pack.

Many existing aircraft and sceneries suffer display problems with these FSX versions, such as missing textures or missing scenery objects in the DirectX 10 mode. Addon Converter X resolves many of these problems on the fly, thus allowing you to enjoy thousands of sceneries and aircraft developed for previous Flight Simulator versions with FSX.

Addon Converter X does not modify any files you have installed in FSX. It performs conversions on the fly as FSX is loading files. You don’t have to “convert” any add-ons you are installing. Simply copy them into FSX, and Addon Converter X will make any necessary changes automatically.

Nemeth Design's MD Helicopters MD 902 Explorer for FSX Previewed

The MD 902 launched in 1989, as McDonnell Douglas Helicopters initialized development on the Explorer, which was then referred to as MDX. Explorer incorporated Boeing's, NOTAR® anti-torque technology system and Pratt & Whitney Canada’s, PW207E series engines. In September, 1992, improvements to the Explorer increased range, endurance and enabled a higher maximum takeoff weight. With these enhancements, the Explorer unofficially became designated MD 902. As one of the most technically advanced helicopters, the MD 902 Explorer continues to make improvements including greater safety, lower noise levels, and enhanced performance and controllability. Also notable in the MD 902, is its ample usable interior space for occupants and storage.

The MD 902, charter aircraft, is the largest in the light twin-engine class. Perfect for corporate jet charter. The twin-engine's greater fuel capacity gives the MD 902 its longer range of travel without the need to stop and refuel. However, jet charter is also ideal for short, scenic trips. Traveling at a cruise speed of 180 miles per hour and with a range of 485 nautical miles.

NemethDesigns MD 902 Explorer package contains four different variants:

  • Standard passenger transport
  • Emergency medical service
  • Law enforcement
  • VIP passenger transport

  • Custom exterior and interior animations
  • Fully clickable dynamic virtual cockpit. Perfectly flyable from the VC.
  • Realistic flight dynamics
  • Uses the newest FSX graphic features
  • All variants with different panel layouts and cabin configurations
  • PDF manual
  • Paint kit

Scenery Builder XP for X-Plane

Scenery Builder XP (SBXP) is one of the fastest tools to built sceneries for the flight simulator X-Plane. This website holds free scenery downloads as well as pictures and videos of free sceneries and pay ware sceneries where you get an idea what complex sceneries are possible by using SBXP. This is also the place where you get a download link for the free test version of SBXP to test some features of it. If you want to buy the SBXP full or license version or if you wish to upgrade your older versions as well as if you wish to buy one of the pay ware sceneries, have a look in the shop.

The scenery development is done with the help of Google Earth pathways or OpenStreetMap source. Via the pathways in GE you define house positions (length, width and angle), tree positions, forest areas, polygon areas, industry facades, streets, strings and much more. From the open source OSM you get all information to extract buildings (residential houses, retails and industries) as well as streets and forests.

There is a free demo, and the full version is 25 Euro for individuals and 100 Euro for commercial scenery distribution.
